| ** There is also a variant of which only four have been discovered in Coromandel township, since 1997. All four have been found in the town itself. Due to lack of specimens found, it is uncertain as to whether it is a seperate species or not.
All members of the Hoplodactylus genera are nocturnal, but will come out to bask occasionally. All are insectivorous, and will occasionally take fruit, berries, and nectar. Generally ground dwellers, except for granulatus and delcourti (in theory!!!), though all are known to climb into foliage to feed (except for cryptozoicus and kahutarae as there is no foliage to climb).
